Resolutions From Alex, Erin And More...

Erin Wasson, Model/Designer: "Next year, I'm definitely devoting myself to saving and adopting more animals. I will be on a crusade to do as much as I can. Yes, I can only imagine how crowded my house will be by 2010!"

Alexander Wang, Designer: "Hmmm I haven't really made any new year's resolutions—I find that its better to surprise myself than to have expectations I can't keep. But I guess if I had to make one it would be to eat more organic…no junk food. Except for maybe pineapple buns!"

Harley Viera-Newton, Model, DJ, and Musician: "My New Year's resolution is to sleep more and drink less…I've yet to see a resolution come to fruition, but it's the thought that counts, right?"

Rumi Neely, Blogger, Fashion Toast: "To travel more and to finally move to New York." Photo by Garance DorĂ©

Dan Single and George Gorrow, Designers, Ksubi: "Our New Year's resolution is 300 dpi—last year was 72."

J'Adore Atonement

"Dearest Cecilia, the story can resume. The one I had been planning on that evening walk. I can become again the man who once crossed the surrey park at dusk, in my best suit, swaggering on the promise of life. The man who, with the clarity of passion, made love to you in the library. The story can resume. I will return. Find you, love you, marry you and live without shame.."

Atonement was on last night! Mama and I watched it (again.. And I've read the novel). God its a beautiful film. I love the whole first act; visually - hyper saturated colours, floaty floral fabrics, visible heat, and thematically - the sense of waiting (a strong theme and feeling the permeates the whole film), the role of fantasy and escapism, imagination and dreams, truth and lies, repression and longing...

I also find the scenes at Dunkirk so indescribably moving...

Prada? You Look Familiar!

The shots from Prada's Resort 09 campaign featuring Ymre Stiekema soo remind me of the paintings of Peter Stichbury (one of my favorite painters). A very talented Kiwi and a world class talent. Seeing his work in person is an amazing experience - will do a post on him soon.

Aruba, jamaica, Ooo I Wanna Take You

I love love Sunny-Sunday afternoons relaxing at one of my local beaches. Feels like I could be anywhere ("Bermuda, Bahama...")..

... Was lovely to do after my sunday afternoon run - so nice to run in the hot sun now its summer! Feels so healthy. And came home after the beach and had cold sweet pineapple and an icy coke. Aah j'adore summer!

Creamy

I still sooo want a cream/beige blazer! And still cant find one (other than online)... It would be the perfect investment for summer - light, feminine and v much channeling The Great Gatsby. another small problem, my drink of choice is Pinot Noir (my white jeans and tees have had many a run in with red wine in their time). Will def keep searching though!

Someone You Really Love

This is one of my all time fave "Beachy" editorials. Unsurprisingly it's from Russh (lol I am a tad predictable).
Gorgeous Shanay Hall. Love the metallic coloured lens sunnies. I so want to get pink highlights in my hair, and I couldn't care less that its impractical to wear Docs and fun fur to the beach! This is perfection.

Fanta Pop

I love candy orange nails for summer - girlie, retro, a little wierd. And with charm bracelets, bangles and pastel = little bit Sweet Valley High oui?

Omfg! First Peek...

Speaking of Lover... Heres the first promo shot for their next collection (Southern Hemisphere AW, Northern Hemisphere SS)....

I DIE! Can't wait. Seriously. Will be counting down the days until the lookbook comes online!!!

Love Is All You Need

Reason #78 why Lover is just amazing.
Little round leather Lover badges in unexpected places? C'est bon! Too cute.
Merci Cobrasnake.

Walking Down The Street With My Nikes On..

Omfg these are TOO CUTE!! Liberty print Nike Dunks from Opening Ceremony (I discovered this pair thanks to Papermag). My friend Christy would go SPARE over these! I wonder if they will come to little old NZ? I am obsessed with Liberty. Sigh. Tres cute.

Living The Dream: Hair Pampering

Spent the morning at the hairdresser, reading (attempting/studying/struggling) French Vogue.. My poor brain is exhausted. But the issue is beautiful.
I hate that the "newest" French Vogue here is September! Its stunning though.  Anna and Daria look v amazing.
Ps: Also loved getting pampered. I def deserved it after working through Boxing Day Sales hell and getting abused by customers.

Let Your Heart Be Light

This is how I wore Christmas...
Festive outfits are a must! White skinny jeans and a burgundy velvet top for Christmas Eve drinks at the local pub, then my cream Karen Walker dress (present!!) for the day. And for Christmas dinner my cream Country Road dress with black stars. Red nails worn throughout of course!! Dressing up for Christmas so helps get you in the mood - I even wore my Clara-esque (The Nutcracker) nightie!

Starry Night

The famous Christmas lights in Franklin Road, Ponsonby on Christmas Eve....
.. And I promptly fell asleep in the car once we had driven passed!

Three Sleeps... So Excite!!

This will be me post work on Christmas Eve! Im tres excited! Going to wrap more presents now - I can't stop buying them for my fam!! Such a good feeling though. x

Festive Wining And Dining

Went to Euro on the Viaduct last night! Had our annual family pre-Christmas dinner. It was tres fab! The interior was gorgeous - they have a chandelier made of antlers! And a massive mirror thats framed by glossy black feathers. The bar is all curved and smooth and wooden.

I had a cosmo as my pre dinner cocktail - they do v good ones (not overly sweet like some places, nor bitter like others). The food was really good also, I had:
- Calamari prosciutto wrap w garlic, date, lemon, extra virgin olive oil & arugula
- Line caught snapper studded w black Alba truffle, ice wine emulsion

And us girls shared an Alaskan Red King crab (Papa had his own) - it was AMAZING. And there's something I love about being dressed up at a flash resturaunt, ordering the most expensive dish on the menu, but having to basically eat it with your hands because of the nature of what it was!
