Birthday Debrief

Mega apologies for the delayed Birthday debrief post!! Was an amazing night - I highly recommend Vivace. And thankyou Daddy for the Bollinger!!! Tres delish.

Presents were just as lovely. I got Karen Walker's Leaf Pendant! It reminds us of gum leaves - appropriate as I'm Australian born and (mostly) bred. Works perfectly with my Jet Plane pendant.

Victor & Rolf's Flowerbomb is loovely - shall alternate with old faithful Daisy.

And got a ton of books!!! Have started with the Anna Wintour - it is AMAZING. Can not put down.
Clockwise:
Front Row: Anna Wintour - What Lies Beneath The Chic Exterior Of Vogues Editor In Chief by Jerry Oppenheimer,
The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger

Hair Ramble #2

God I have been tearing my hair out all day trying to upload the images for this post. Finally figured it was the colour profiles from Photoshop causing drrrama. And of course technical issues are great distractions from uni work.

So speaking of hair, I had a ramble the other day about the half (or more? maybe?) of me that is dying to lop of my hair into a scruffy bob. The rest of my is desperate for it to grow grow grow. Do I keep growing it? Am tempted to dye it darkblonde/lightbrown - am pretty much obsessed with this hair colour. Think young Brooke Shields circa Blue Lagoon and those Calvin Klein ads.

But am I ready to not be blonde? Have been for my WHOLE life. There is something heavenly about long, messy blonde locks. Typical of the iconic Chloe girls (as well as Chloe Sevigny).
Or should I maintain what I have at the moment? Midlength, growing out, wavy/disheveled - but occasionally bordering on scarecrow when I am v lazy.
Wow this post has been the ultimate in distraction. And sleep calls, 5 hours before wakeup and deadlines tomorrow. But only two sleeps until my five week mid semester break!! Hallelujah!

The Daisy Age

This editorial is timeless. We see so much of Kate these days that its easy to forget quite what made her so special in the first place. Her youth, energy and her imperfections; freckles, crooked teeth, bowlegs. Gorgeous.

The Met's Costume Institute Gala 09: Jessica Stam, Kate Bosworth, Diane Kruger & Kate Moss

I can't get over how mind blowing Jessica Stam looks in that Rodarte.. It is absolutely amazing with her colouring - fair skin and warm blonde hair. This is how its done. The Boz does Old Hollywood without an ounce of cliche. Loving the side parted hair and the black lace Stella McCartney - so elegant and just a little bit of siren and romantic gothic.
Diane Kruger manages to look super strong even though wearing stunning, delicate white Chanel lace. And the divine Miss Moss is literally the golden girl of the night in (and with) Marc Jacobs - love the turban (had been hearing rumours about it for the past week).

Vogue's Party People: Chanel & Fendi (Merci Karl)

Unsurprisingly, everyone was dressed insanely well at the Chanel post-party (also showcasing Jefferson Hack's Another Fashion Book)...
And this is how guys need to look. Moss's baby daddy looks so smart but so cool and casual. Love the pale grey jacket.

Three of my fave girls were at Fendi's after-show party. Angela in white, Alexa in black and Kate in furs.
And I just love this shot.. Too cool.

Best Of The Best of The Brits

Fashionologie has the twelve covers that i-D is doing for their March Best of British issue. They used twelves iconic British faces - past and present - for the issue. My faves are Kate, Lily D, Alice Dellal and Twiggy:

The other cover stars are Aggy, Daisy Lowe, Eliza Cummings, Jourdan Dunn, Naomi Campbell, Stella Tennant, Susie Bick and Yasmin Le Bon.

"The confirmations were instant — it was about doing something for England, and models have been so faceless — British models always have personality."

Got Milk?

Love this. Kate looks so gorgeous (and young).

New Stella!!

This just made my morning. One of the first shots from Stella McCartney's Spring 09 Campaign - and its Kate too. Apparently the campaign is also featuring Angela Lindvall, another fave of mine, and shot by the amazing Ryan McGinley. I think the shot is magic - it looks like a watercolour painting. Its fresh, but still very Stella.

Loving: Les Chiffoniers

Im seriously digging Les Chiffoniers right now - leggings in leather, pvc or sequins? check. Slouchy sheer sweaters? check. Sequin top/blazer/dress? check.  Please infiltrate my wardrobe! ASAP. Do these pieces give anyone else the intense urge to Go Out? And with Daisy Lowe? Pity its a tuesday and I am in bed right now!

Designed by Leena Similu, their leggings are the infamous pair that Kate Moss wore at Glastonbury in 2006

One Horse Open Sleigh...

Getting excited for Christmas?? I am! We are gradually putting up decorations and festive things - and last night we planned Christmas Lunch. Mum makes THE best baked ham I have ever had. She is pure genius. One of the good things about working in retail is that you (well I do) get really into the Christmas spirit - everyone doing their shopping for their loved ones, decorations, Christmas music. I love that air of excitement and anticipation (unfortunately stress is in the air too). Unfortunately us Southern Hemisphere folk cant rug up in big furs and frolic in the snow.. But I could bust out the fur and sheer body suit combo a la Russh? Also, how gorgeous is that ginger bread house painting? Its by Will Cotton - his work is amazing. He's got lots of festive type paintings too (gingerbread, candy canes etc) and I've been looking at them quite a lot lately all in the name of Christmas.
