Books And Bags

I neeeed this bag. It is actually too perfect. Slouchy and natural, with amazing details. This type of leather is always my favorite - it wears in and ages. Darkening, wearing and aging. Thats the joy of leather - and why I hate the overly processed kinds most bags come in these days. This bag would show where its been and the love you've given it - and reflect that hard work it's put in for you over the years, getting even better with age.

On the same tangent of "Classics", there's something about mountains and walls of leather bound books that I have always loved - probably because I've always grown up with our bookshelves groaning (and literally breaking) under the weight of all our books. I love a few copies I was given by my grandpa that are leather bound and gold embossed - not to mention perfectly battered and worn. Books are always best when they look like they have been read by several generations worth of bookworms.

So understandably the nerd in me is loving the Fall 09 campaign shots for Alberta Ferretti.

Miu Miu Fall 09 Campaign

The new Miu Miu campaign for fall stunning - the black and white combined with washed out colour really works for once (so often this can look very wrong). These are miles better than than the Katie Holmes campaign. I love the combination of the soft beiges and camels with the grey. There's a refreshing austerity and refinement but also an appealing sense of luxury - hello bejewelment!

Stella Loves Bambi Too!!!

Ohmygod stop it. Stella loves Bambi too!!!!  These are some shots from her Fall 09 campaign - hitting the September mags. It seriously doesn't get much more awesome than this. I mentioned recently to all of you that I have a never ending love for deeriness, so you can understand I am totally tripping all over this!

Chloe: Fall/Winter 09 Campaign

Woke up do to find one of Chloe's fall/winter 09 campaign shots is out (on the net anyway). And its beautiful - but then again I didn't expect anything less because I LOVED the collection and what Hannah MacGibbon has been doing in general, and when are Chloe campaigns ever not mind blowingly awesome?

This I love. I always die for the Gucci campaigns, and Abbey Lee is one of my all time faves. The video for this is also stunning (though nothing beats the one for the Fall 08 campaign).

HERMES

I adored the Hermes collection - full of red hot aviatrices; leather, fur, bomber jackets, goggles, helmets. So sick.

The collection stuck to a chic, tough palette of black, grey and brown - working with monochrome outfits that really let the textures and shapes shine.

Reminds me of one of my favorite Ralph Lauren ad Campaigns.

ANTONIO BERARDI

Love the textured fun-lumpy dresses in the Berardi show. I wonder what they feel like?

Really interesting shapes for the evening wear - love the combination of a sharp asymmetrical neckline with the round skirts. 
Ps: This show totally makes me want to bust out my old bright pink Revlon lippy again.

Vintage Daria from Yves Saint Laurent's Winter 05 campaign - I always love the YSL ads (esp. the new ones with Claudia), his girls always look so statuesque. The Eiffel Tower looks dreamy. I need to get myself to Paris asap I think.

Excitement at the breakfast table! New shots from Chloe's Spring/Summer 09 campaign. I love these! The light, the colour, the rocks (and obvz the clothes). And that soft bouncy hair that is oh so Chloe. I do miss Anja though.

 This just made my morning. One of the first shots from Stella McCartney's Spring 09 Campaign - and its Kate too. Apparently the campaign is also featuring Angela Lindvall, another fave of mine, and shot by the amazing Ryan McGinley. I think the shot is magic - it looks like a watercolour painting. Its fresh, but still very Stella.

First Look: Marc Jacobs Spring 09

Heres the first shot of Raquel Zimmerman in Marc Jacobs' Spring 09 campaign - shot by Juergen Teller. I love the colours and that they have moved away from the austere white backgrounds to a natural setting (and the contrast between the wintery, bare trees and the fact that its a Spring collection. I want blossoms! lol)
