Extra Spicy

Loves these... Louis Vuitton "Spicy" from their crazygood Spring 09 collection. Apparently the shoe of Paris Fashion Week (bye bye YSL tributes - I am sooo over these, esp as everyone is ripping them off now). These are stunners. And would be a never ending source of amusement so much to play with! Would never get bored! The leopard pair are my faves.

PFW: Hermes & Antonio Berardi

HERMES

I adored the Hermes collection - full of red hot aviatrices; leather, fur, bomber jackets, goggles, helmets. So sick.

The collection stuck to a chic, tough palette of black, grey and brown - working with monochrome outfits that really let the textures and shapes shine.

Reminds me of one of my favorite Ralph Lauren ad Campaigns.

ANTONIO BERARDI

Love the textured fun-lumpy dresses in the Berardi show. I wonder what they feel like?

Really interesting shapes for the evening wear - love the combination of a sharp asymmetrical neckline with the round skirts. 
Ps: This show totally makes me want to bust out my old bright pink Revlon lippy again.

Alexa Hearts Karen

Alexa looks fab as always (double breasted blazer dress anyone? Keen) and she loves Karen!!!

The glasses look like Karen Walker's Xtra Ray Vision sunglasses. The girl has taste for sure. And always makes me tempted to get a messy bob (also a la Kim Norda and Anna Selezneva - even though I've been growing my hair for what feels like for-eh-va!

Vogue's Party People: Chanel & Fendi (Merci Karl)

Unsurprisingly, everyone was dressed insanely well at the Chanel post-party (also showcasing Jefferson Hack's Another Fashion Book)...

And this is how guys need to look. Moss's baby daddy looks so smart but so cool and casual. Love the pale grey jacket.

Three of my fave girls were at Fendi's after-show party. Angela in white, Alexa in black and Kate in furs.

And I just love this shot.. Too cool.

PFW: Chloe

CHLOE

Oh Chloe. Loved. I finally got to look at the collection late last night, and this morning I still can't get over the insane coats. Big, drapey, foldey and bold. Love the muddy tones and the leather edging. I think number one fave would def by the third look that Freja's wearing (also love those boots).

Like last season, the colours of the collection are stunning - all neutral, veering from muddy to some pretty creams and beiges - and all put together amazingly. There were some great pant looks too. Love the middle look. There have been so many pleated pants all over the runways and outside the shows.
I die for the cream looks. The long white dress takes me back to the much beloved collections of Spring 06 and Spring 07. Im really loving the mixing of cream, tan and beige at the moment, and Chloe has done it so well.

And how stunning are the long, sheer skirts? The gathering and fabric gives them the most beautiful movement. Love how the piece on Lily is contrasted with an oversized cream blazer. So so pretty. I want something like this - but know I'd stand on the hem and rip it.

Shoes were too cute. Lace up booties in tan? Fab.

HUSSEIN CHALAYAN

Love the slick black looks that came out for Hussein Chalayan's Fall 09 Collection. Leather and blazers is always a foolproof combination. Particularly love the leather details on the middle jacket.

As well as the black, the grey looks were also a standout for me. Little mini dresses that were so sexy but also look quite comfy and wearable. Great details like a slouchy neck, fembot breastplates - and a sick oversized leather jacket.

YVES SAINT LAURENT

I die for this zipped up leather one piece that Caroline Trentini wore for YSL's collection. She was awol from all the other fashion shows/weeks because the girl had an exclusive for YSL - it was so worth it. I would wear this with/under/over everything.

GIVENCHY

Amazing sheer pieces at in the Givenchy show. Love the drapes and layers of the third dress. And our girl Karlie looks like an angel (with a Death Stare).

PFW: Stella McCartney

STELLA MCCARTNEY

So I finally get to see Stella McCartney's collection - my macbook has been m.i.a for a few days (my gremlin of a kitten chewed through the charger cord - $150 later I'm up and running again). As usual, the collection is pure fab - girl can do no wrong. It opened with some of what I like to call Chubby Coats - they look insanely comfortable (I so wish for one to curl up in on the way to Uni in the winter). I particularly love the contrast between the coat and the leather in the first look.

McCartney can always be counted on to show some to-die-for blazers, and certainly didnt disappoint. Love the extra long lines. The grey is lovely and soft - looks stunning with white. And the brick/burgundy red one is surprisingly lovely (I've always associated red jackets with fox hunter, or Hugh Hefner.) I think the lines, cut and slightly washed out colour really elevate it to another level.
There were also som insane lace pieces - angular cutouts filled with soft, sheer-as-hell lace. So gorgeous - feminine, deicate, graphic, dark. I die for that last dress with the velvet bottom.
I'm never usually a bright blue girl (the colour really doesn't like me) but the collection had some really appealing pieces - that metallic blue biker jacket is insane. Wanted.
The detail shots really let the lace shine - love the lace panel of the hip/thigh of the dress on the left. And the how the looseness of the second shows the body lines.
The boots the went on for-ev-er are to die for. So hot and slick and would be so warm - I wonder how easy they are to get in to? Even better are the laser cut pairs.

Fash-Fight

Everything is better in Paris - apparently Karl himself had to break up a "full on serious fistfight" between two "veteran models" in a Paris nightlcub!! That is so rock and roll. Im dying to know who the beligerants are.

PFW: Jean Paul Gaultier, Haider Ackermann

JEAN PAUL GAULTIER

Love these two looks from the Gaultier collection. Amazing details on the first; studded jacket, fringed pants - slick and black. Really love the look Tallulah is sporting ont he right. For some reason I always love flashes of visible nude underwear (partly sexy but also very functional underwear - creates an almost humorous contrast). I like how the massive rich fur is thrown over basics (and pretty much underwear) - very Edie. And I die for thosel laser cut boots (reminiscent of the fantastic leggings from Rodarte's Spring 09 collection). Its such an amazing technique - Australian designer Dion Lee uses it alot too (this guy blows my mind, will def be posting on him soon).

HAIDER ACKERMANN

The collection from Haider Ackermann is insane. Zip fronted pants make legs go on forever. Stunning gold fringed scarves.
There were some amazing metallic pieces; the jacket fabric of the jacket really shows of its folds and layers. I covet that chainmail-like top on the right (it can go on the same In-My-Dreams wishlist as these).
I love a long skirt when it's done well. These are gorgeous, and lifted to another level by the pieces they are teamed with; soft, architecturally draped leather jackets, fringed and embellished scarves.

PFW: Sophia Kokosalaki

SOPHIA KOKOSALAKI

The Fall 09 collection from Kokosalaki is so rock and roll; yet never falls back in to cliche or tacky. Love the cropped burnished metal boleros over skinny black silhouettes; the velvet + sheer + (holy hell I want those) studded leather pants.

There's a delicate, gothic femininity in the draped and gathered sheer black dresses.
Al lthough mostly quite dark, the collection had some standout lighter looks - amazing colour combinations of beige, mushroom and butterscotch (finished nicely with a slick gold belt). Love the sheer(ish) beige leggings - and that jacket thats visibly loaded up with beads on jewels.

The show was rounded off with some insanely covetable burnished gold pieces - creates a tough, somewhat antique feel (avoids the nouveau riche tacky glitz metallics sometimes evoke). The pattern and texture is insane - really evident in the fold of the dress of the first look. The fire-like pattern of the last dress is also really beautiful and unique. Love the middle look - heaven.

More great coats - particularly love the layer on the girl second from the left (union jacket shirt tied around the waist? Amazing) and the girl on the far right - it's undoubtably freezing but she's toughing it to show kneecaps and a bit of midriff.

PFW: Maison Martin Margiela & Vivienne Westwood

MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA

One can always count on Margiela for some mind blowing pieces and concepts, and the Fall 09 collection was no different. Love the molten/shaggy black look - so tactile. And the very contrasting ethereal pieces that closed the show.

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD

Sumptuous fabrics in the Vivienne Westwood collection. I die for the the acidwash/marble silks/velvets; the draped and layered sequin piece; and the soft blue and whites. Also loving the idea of a blanket for a coat (always so comfortable at picnics/festivals/etc).

PFW: Isabel Marant

ISABEL MARANT

I want everything. Once again, Isabel Marant has produced a fab collection - wearable, fun, chic (and with amazing boots). Love how the grey marle is the perfect foil for some amazing furs and a sexy body con dress.

There were some gorgeous  monochrome outfits; skinny-as-hell black pants, soft white silk dress and a belted black silk tee.
The fun in the collection is def obvious in the numerous (and totally sick) leopard print pieces - LOVE the big coats (v Moss and Wasson) and the little dress under a chic black blazer.

PFW: Nina Ricci, Balenciaga

NINA RICCI

This collection is reportedly Olivier Theyskens last for Nina Ricci, but he undoubtably went out with a bang. Fluid metallics, rich colours and gravity defying shapes made this one of his best yet. Theyskens says he was  "Was thinking of a nocturnal mood, Not nightclubbing at all. Something moonlit — a bit magical."

The shoes are already infamous and much admired; over 5 inch platforms, heels that were either floating or non existent, sickle moon shapes on soles - and some pairs that looked like they had waded through pink sparkles on their way to the show.

BALENCIAGA

I just want to reach out and touch the new collection from Balenciaga. Those liquid silks look insane. So beautiful. Love the folds and draping and low slung hips - gorgeous palette too. Ghesquiere described the collection as "Parisian". I love seeing a softer look from him - as much as I also love his blooming warrior women, beautiful aliens, and globetrotters of seasons past.
