The Poly always does disheveled, sexy blonde so well - yet like The Kass, still remains high fashion and classy. Love that they have put leopard print, thigh high boots and slick black pieces in woodsy countryside.

I think that Chloe jacket/cape/thing is one of my favorite pieces of the whole fall season - dramatic yet earthy, and actually semi-practical!

Couture Fall 09: Jean Paul Gaultier

Never thought I'd say this.. But my fave things from the Fall Couture shows this year was the tricked out overalls by Jean Paul Gaultier in his homage to Old Hollywood and the golden age of film- Croc skin, gold sequins - hello!!!! Paired with intense furs and sexy sideswept waves? Yes please! This has only made me need overalls/dungarees even MORE - alas Trademe has not provided (not impressed) shall have to use my little feet to have a big search, Pity I wont be able to find any to remotely rival these babies.

That geometric gold piece is the best possible mash up between retro sex kitten and retro futuristic origami. Top marks.

I would die for the fur edged gold dressing gown/coat that Poly got to wear - even she looks like its heavenly soft. More retro futurism in centre - this time playing with a strong deco vibe.
And I'm not gonna lie, I always love a matelot stripe and a sailor hat.

Natasha in Self Service

I have had the biggest crush on these Balmain bell bottoms from the minute Raquel Zimmermann stomped down the catwalk in them for Spring 08 (I swooned via handy old Style.com). This ed is such a great mix of o.t.t-girly, sexy and a bit of realism/naturalness. I think Natasha Poly is part of why they all come together so well - without bordering on being contrived or awkward. Crimped hair and Louis Vuitton monogrammed mesh? Hell yes.

This girl (Meghan Collison) looks like the lovechild of Natasha Poly and Freja Beha (if only that was possible). Stunning. Love the colours of this editorial too - warm, slightly washed out - and they contrast beautifully with the long dark hair and rich shadows.

Down With Shame

I don't think I've seen Natasha Poly look this stunning since her editorial in the April 08 issue of French Vogue. The lighting is amazing - as is that Givenchy bow headband. Love the restrained palette, gorgeously tactile textures and the intriguing layers. Fab.

Revelation

This editorial is stunning. So so different to anything I have seen lately. The colours and textures (wool, chiffon, tule, silk) combined with the backlighting is beautiful. So reminds me of Franco Zeffirelli's films Romeo and Juliet and Brother Sun Sister Moon - Particularly the fever/dream sequence.

Hedi's Girls of 07

Stayed up way past my bedtime lastnight (bad idea, 5:30am wakeupcall for uni this morning) looking at Hedi Slimane's photography. Found this gorgeous shoot from 07 of some of my fave girls - Natasha, Gemma, Raquel and Erin. Love the black and white with the beachy hair, slouchy peekaboo tshirting.

Erin is stunning as usual - the girl has some amazing tats as well.

I love the new Gucci by Gucci Eau de Toilette ads, mainly because Natasha Poly has her old, darker hair back!! Which do you prefer? The darker blonde/brown, or the perfect blonde she is now? Both look insanely stunning, but thats because she's Natasha "The Show Doesn't Start Until I Walk In" Poly.

Brave New Shorts

Now the weathers getting properly hot (have finally been able to wear sheer things) I am tempted to try the super short shorts (aka basically briefs) trend - also picked up by Style.Com - that has been all over the Spring runways at houses like Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, Max Azria and adorning the pins of Natasha Poly...

Is this doable/appropriate or even clothing? How to make it look like I didn't just forget my skirt? Im thinking I buy high waist and boy leg black underwear - thickish fabric? Verging on Bridget Jones (a little bit of nana-ness will hopefully stop them looking slutty) and I think if paired with a buttoned shirt, lots of jewelry and proper make up so its dressed up and a "look" (as much as I'd love to just throw on a loose tee and my ballet flats - that would look as if I just rolled out of bed). Its also a worry that I live in the suburbs (as suburban as you can get - lots of elderly, young families, and 100% bland middle class).. Will be an interesting experiment. I think there will need to be a fair few practice outfits in the comfort (and privacy!) of my bedroom..
