I'm a sucker for a good galaxy/celestial/heavenly print (am still obsessed with Ksubi, Peter Pilotto and Christopher Kane's versions) so I loved what I've found from Risto Bimbiloski. The perfect print!! Need.

Christopher Kane for Topshop
The long awaited (and much hyped) collecion by uber-talented Christopher Kane for Topshop is finally here - well, in cyberspace anyway. It doesn't dissapoint. He's managed to apply his unique signature to a cheaper, more mainstream line without losing any of ideas and looks that make his designs so standout and covetable.
Gromets are a key feature; creating patterns, weight and an edgy, futuristic feel.
Metal gromets on dark denim create an almost celestial pattern. And how kitschly cute is the toy croc?
I think the gromet feauture works best on the sheer black pieces; dresses and leggings. The latter of which I would particularly kill for.

Good thing Topshop ships here now!!

Monkey See, Monkey Do
I think it'd be pretty awesome to go around with a big-ass monkey on your tshirt - talk about in your face. Would love to see peoples reactions to it. Would def wear this with my leopard-velour jacket. I want the chimp! I love you Mr Kane.

Dress Up
So I seriously need some fun going out dresses.. Had a massive outfit meltdown while getting dressed on saturday night; tears, insecurity, the works - classic Dumb Girl moment. Something must be done.
I really want something with sleeves - as my total lack of circulation means I feel the cold terribly. I want sparkles, metallic, lace, details and monochrome.

Resort 2010: Christopher Kane & Elise Overland
CHRISTOPHER KANE
Kane's resort collection has been receiving quite a bit of commentary already (picked up crazy-fast by the awesome Patty Huntington) - regarding his apocalyptic prints. Those, and the sky-scapes I've picked for here really are quite beautiful. I am a total sucker for any apocalyptic/sky/galaxy prints - I still so so so regret not getting one of the stunning pieces from Ksubi's Summer 07/08 collection "Said The Rainbow To The Apocalypse" - one of those classic shopping regrets. And that's pretty much the best title for anything ever.

ELISE OVERLAND
Love the slick leather here from Elise Overland's collection - especially the paneled pants! Am obsessed with panels right now - have used them a ton in my garments at Uni this semester.

RUSSH May 09
Got, read (twice so far) and scanned the new issue of Russh in the space of two days! Infinitely better than my usual drawn-out magazine habits. Words can't actually describe how much I love this magazine, so I won't even try. The new issue is a stunner - I fell in love with the cover the minute I saw it online about a month ago. However those of us stranded in New Zealand have to wait nearly a whole month after our Australian counterparts to get our hands on it. So worth it thought.

RAFW: Karla Spetic, Beat Poet & Kirrily Johnston
Sorry I've been a bit behind posting, It's been a hectic last half of a week - ton of uni, and had to work. And had 5:20am wakeups (and four hours sleep so I could finish my design assignment). Its been hard to keep up with all the fantastic coverage coming out of Australia (thank god for the likes of Isaac, Patty Huntington and Melissa Hoyer) - don't even get me started on the tsunami of it on twitter!
KARLA SPETIC
I'm a total sucker for outfits in washed out pastels - so I love these tan and bright-baby-blue looks from Karla Spetic. Have also been pretty much obsessed with scalloped edges ever since the Spring 09 collections of Christopher Kane and Chloe.
Love the washed out semi-kitsch floral pieces too - those leggings are to die for.
BEAT POET
I love (and wear) menswear nearly as much as I do womens. Half the time I look like a boy anyway - much to my fathers chagrin. I just find that their tees and shirts fit me so much better than womens ones.
Understandably I pretty much died when I saw the Beat Poet collection - this is how all males should dress. A bit dark, a bit tailored.. And just enough badass grungyness. The skinny jeans look great paired with the tailored jackets coats and vests. How often do you see men in a white skinny jean and it actually looks good?
Love the vest over the sheer sleeves in the fourth look along. And that coat in the second is pretty much perfection.

KIRRILY JOHNSTON
Gorgeous palette at the Kirrily Johnston show - creams, whites and washed out oranges. V warm but soft. Love the contrast with the black pieces and the slicked back (and wrapped around necks) hair. Badass boots too!

Change My Spots
I am so coveting leopard print right now - its been steadily intensifying ever since Christopher Kane sent his Spring 09 collection down the runway. The latest Dsquared show has only made it worse! And better of course. As I've already mentioned, I love this editorial - especially the leopard leggings. So I'm def thinking I will have to pick up a piece, I'm leaning towards the sick leopard cardy/jacket from Stolen Girlfriends Club. And will for sure be getting styling inspiration from from the layers and layers of leopard-denim-plaid at Dsquared.

Natural Beauty
I die for this editorial. I've posted one shot before, but here is the rest. Stunning colours, textures and layering. Very Christopher Kane Spring 09. And stars one of my fave girls - Maryna Linchuk. Particularly love the third look. And this has only increased my craving for leopard print.

LFW: Richard Nicoll, Christopher Kane, Twenty8Twelve,
For the second season in a row I was really impressed with Richard Nicoll. The Fall 09 collection is refined and stark, yet still warm and soft - achieved I think by the use of creamy fabrics (as opposed to harsh whites) and the genius use of layering and textures. I love the strong linear elements and lingerie detailing - they really play up the contrast of structure versus softness.
And as I am a total magpie, I love the strong use of textured gold - fun and shiny and luxe, whilst still emphasizing the structure of the pieces.
More on this linear look that I'm loving right now, Christopher Kane (as always) produced a great collection. Strong black lines on sheer fabric created the most amazing patterns and shapes - and constrast the vividness of the line with the sheer fabric. I also love the oversized sweaters he showed.
A collection that surprised was Twenty8Twelve by Sienna and Savannah Miller. The strong points for me were the tight jeans, sheer black, leather jackets and the Balmain-esque green sequin dress. The shoes rock too.

Oyster: Issue 80
The new issue of Oyster looks great - entitled "Distortion", Alice Dellal rocks the cover and inside are the amazing Rick Owens and Christopher Kane (plus many more - several Aussies too). Can't wait! Was very impressed by their past two issues, so this should be equally fab!
