Winter Booties... Too Soon?

I have been researching boots for winter lately. I desperately want a perfect assortment of ankle boots for winter - I am totally cold intolerant, and am v prone to chilblains, so boots are a must! Unfortunately, New Zealand has a pathetic selection when it comes to shoes. So I think online is my answer..

Refinery Hearts Rumi

Refinery 29 have done a great interview with the amazingly inspiring and so-cool-you-wish-you-could-hate-her Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast (daily must have reading - and always inspiring.) She is without a doubt one of the best dressed people I have come across.

J'adore Lara

Here are some of my favorite of the first shots that have surfaced from French Vogue's Lara issue - dedicated entirely to Lara Stone. The girl is really growing on me - she's stunnin, womanly and strong - and looks human! Sexy and sensual but never vulgar. And makes me want to bleach my eyebrows haha!

Catherine for Narciso

I love these first shots for Narciso Rodriguez's new perfume Essence starring Catherine McNeil and shot by (the amaaaazing) Inez & Vinoodh.

I agree with them that there is def a Stella feel about these - probably why I love them.

Spring 09

Wild Thing

Love this shot that was just posted on Le Fashion...

Reminds me a lot of Christopher Kane's Spring 09 collection...

Topshop Spring

Here is a preview of Topshop's spring trends (the ones I like best anyway) thanks to Grazia.
Left to Right: Hope and Glory, Nouveau Sport, Memphis

I particularly like Glory Days...
And Memphis...

Lace and Tweed

This young girl has such great style - I love the contrast between the cream lacy dress and the soft, worn in, tweed coat. Love the satchel and LOVE the boots.

James Jean

I have spent a good chunk of my morning looking at the work of James Jean. He's the amazing talent behind Prada's Spring 08 campaign artwork.

I particularly love the Fairy Bag...
And the Trembled Blossoms animation from YouTube (a must see if you havn't already)...

His other work is equally amazing - especially the darker works. Love the contrast between the delicacy of the work with the imagery and themes.

"Using pictorial conventions from such varied sources as Japanese Woodblock prints, Northern Renaissance paintings and etchings, Chinese scroll paintings, Shanghai advertising posters, comics, anatomical charts, and vintage printed ephemera, Jean's images evoke a sense of fantasy and the subconscious, seductive in its delicacy and sensuality. " - Mars Destijl

Score

 Finallyfinallyfinally GOT MY LACEY KSUBIS!!!!
They are amazing - sooo comfy and look seriously cool.
Wore them out lastnight to Shanghai Lil's - the coolest bar I think I have ever been to, it looks like a opium den/brothel in 1930s Shanghai. High ceilings, dark, reddish light, full of antiques and exotic piece. We sat on a velvet couch with a marble topped carved chest as our coffee table, drinking red wine and having epic discussions about life. They had an amazing jazzy/bluesy band playing. God it was cool. Thats the only word to describe it.
