Rare Sight
Also thought I should mention, I saw the most amazingly dressed man yesterday. I was having lunch at (the insanely delicious) Ima & Ibn on Fort St, and at the table next to us was a guy wearing a calfskin satchel (fastened with a chunky silver clasp) a leather akubra with a big feather in it and what I'm sure were Frye boots. He was amazing. And a rare sight in Auckland.
Ps: and he was casually carrying a novel around! Fab.

Oh I had to laugh lastnight; We were in the bathroom of a club, and out of the seven girls in there, three were wearing this bodysuit (my friend, and two others - I have one too, but was wearing a different bodysuit from Ruby, will post on it soon - its v cool.).
Needless to say, we bonded. What saved the moment from being potentially catty was that this is such a staple, classic basic! Probz would have been a different story if it was something more unique/eyecatching. I love being a girl sometimes.

Lover's Sacred Hearts - FINALLY!
As I've mentioned already, I have been insaaanely looking forward to Lover's new collection "Sacred Hearts" ever since this image appeared on their website in late December...
And then today, their Facebook page notified me that the new collection was up on their site! It literally made my day! They even have a school crest/badge - too cute!
Key picks (wants... NEEDS!) are a straw boater hat, dungarees, duffel coats, and sailor shirts. And omg I actually really want grey marle trackpants to wear for good?! Am I far to easily influenced?

New Stella!!
This just made my morning. One of the first shots from Stella McCartney's Spring 09 Campaign - and its Kate too. Apparently the campaign is also featuring Angela Lindvall, another fave of mine, and shot by the amazing Ryan McGinley. I think the shot is magic - it looks like a watercolour painting. Its fresh, but still very Stella.

Dogtown
Lords of Dogtown would have to be one of my all time favorite films. Im obsessed (and constantly inspired by) every part of it; mood, music (Jimi, Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath), themes, cityscapes of the gritty Venice Beach, clothes, film style (sun bleached). The late Heath Ledger (fave actor ever I think) is amazing in it too.
Jay is definitely one of my favorite characters. And after watching it again the other day, I still loved that navy bandana he wears so much that I got myself a second hand one, tried it on today and I love. Refreshingly different and love the boyishness!
And love that its a staple for Axel too!
Tough Choices
Rumi of my beloved Fashion Toast (insanely inspiring) has got the Alexander Wang Oversized Metallic Sweater Dress from his Spring 09 Collection. She wears it sooo well. I am insanely jealous, and actually SERIOUSLY contemplating buying this... But with the terrible dollar it is NZ$1173.10... Oh dear.

This Is How It's Done
I was very disappointed with the fashion at the SAGs, thank god then for the Annual Sidaction AIDS Benefit Gala. My faves were Lou Doillon who wore Nina Ricci (and Olivier) and Vanessa Paradis who glowed in Sonia Rykiel.
And Diane Kruger (also in Nina Ricci) and Joshua Jackson are a stunning (looks and sartorially) couple. Both had really different but amazing outfits. She is always on form.

Beha
I love these shots of Freja Beha in i-Ds new Man Issue, shot by Collier Schorr - they capture her perfectly (androgyny, and that tough fragility she has). Her tattoos are amazing too. Need one.
