“A Long Day’s Journey Into Night”

I love a good old "darkandmoody" editorial. Particularly when they manage to be shot outside with some harsh sunlight and daisies, yet still manage to be strong and brooding - Katie Grand can do no wrong.

One of the things I like about Amber Valletta is that she's one of the few blondes that manage to nail a strong (almost harsh) look. Any blonde girl knows how easy it is to look overly saccharine/girly/vampy - but rarely serious or dramatic. But here she has an androgynous ferocity and power. I think the bleached out brows help too - they are back in vogue dont-cha-know.
And I don't need to say it, but Daria seriously has one of the best bodies in the business.

New Pop

 Fashionologie has the news that Pop has officially got a new editor (Katie Grand is now atLove) and it's Dasha Zhukova...

 This is interesting; she has no previous editorial experience, but is big in both fashion (is the designer behind Kova & T - creators of the infamous and celebrity-loved latex leggings) and art (founded Garage Center For Contemporary Culture - the largest exhibition venue in Moscow). We will have a bit of a wait to see the result (first issue drops first of September) and rumour has it that Zhukova's best friend and artist Olympia Scarry (grandaughter of the great Richard Scarry) will be creative director. Of the new Pop, Zhukova says:

"We are working hard on a complete revamp of the magazine in order to provide a broader point of view focusing also on art, contemporary culture and the globalisation of all things pop-related."

Love Is In The Air

The first issue of Katie Grand's new baby Love has started trickling out - Fashionista got their hands on a copy and apparently it's as amazing as everyone has hoped.

 "Let me tell you, it doesn't disappoint. From the first page to the last, it's an explosion of the most amazing fashion, writing and just plain coolness. It doesnt get any better than this."

Love Update

Im sure you all know how much I'm looking forward to Katie Grand's glossy new baby Love to come out. Fashionista are too, and they have a shot of the first ad for the magazine - Aggy seemingly channelling Queen Liz? It's all looking v promising. While you wait, keep an eye on the Love team's blog.

Who LOVES Katie Grand?

Excitement at the breakfast table for Emma this morning!

Word on the street (merci Fashionista and WWD) is that Katie Grands new magazine Love will be released (albeit overseas) on the 19th of February! Her team includes wizards from i-D and Heat -  and of course a lot of her old Pop crew.

Im definitely going to miss Pop, but am really looking forward to seeing what she does with Love! Im sold on just the mag name already.. Haha so shallow!
