This Is Fur Real

Because sometimes all you need to wear is fur and lingerie.
And this of course reminds me of the infamous Marianne Faithfull "girl in the fur rug" incident.

Vivienne Westwood Fall 09: Accessories

I love the new campaign for Vivienne Westwood's Fall 09 accessories and underwear. Something about the colours, the background and the frame of the image. And I always love a well placed Virgin Mary statue.

I Love Shopping

Fur? Yes. Slashed and studded leathers? Oui. Crazy-ass leggings? You bet. Giant getto-blaster?! Too badass for words. And love that she's walking around with a "So what?!" look on her face. Excellent.

POP Fall/Winter 09/10

“This is Pop World, Free Your Mind, Put Your Head Back in the Clouds and Start the Ch-Ch-Ch-Change”
So I've already mentioned recently that I'm seriously coveting pastel hair - totally inexplicably. The look has popped up again in the latest issue of Pop magazine in various hues.
I really love the Miu Miu and Chloe pieces in particular. And hi, aqua skin? Can't help but like.

"Spent!"
We all know I'm a sucker for "Nanna Chic", so I love that they kitted Stam out in bundles of clothing; Chanel suits, grandpa socks, scarves, glasses, and cardigans galore.
Photogrpaher: Paolo Roversi

"The Channels"
This editorial in particular is beyond dreamy. It captures the freedom, sensuality and the earthiness of a bohemian escape in the tropics.
The images are saturated, washed out, hazy and imperfect. Trippy and suprising.

The World Of Women & Supreme

I found the shots from V's model supplement quite arresting - the classical elegance and refinement is beautiful, but there is also an earthy, primal undercurrent - most noticeable in some of the other images that featured animal feet, raw meat and innards

Light As Day

I love the heady glamour of these shots. The warm lighting is intoxicating. As is the lushly textured white pieces combined with perfectly tanned skin and decadent gold jewellery.

The Bolt

So the track titan that is Usain Bolt blasted the 100m world record in 9.69 seconds. Watching him sprint is just jaw-dropping. And the fact that the dude is like 8"2 blows my ind (okay 6"4, but whatevs).

I've always had a worrying soft spot for all things spandexy, lycra and tight; probably instigated by a childhood spent either swimming or running around in bike shorts (stripey, floral - love the nineties). I spent high school rowing competitively, so became very comfortable in just a spandex one piece (I kid you not, most comfy things ever) and these days I'm gym fan and also a major leggings/bodysuit fiend, and spent my summer living mad little bike shorts; great with an oversized mens tee by the way (or for "security" under short skirts and dresses).

H&M Fall 09: "Back In Black"

One of my long time favorite girls, Angela Lindvall, shows everyone that she's still got it - and more. H&M have done a good job of interpreting all the key trends and shapes from Fall 09 - and cleverly stuck with black black black. I seriously want ever piece here - although I am a fiend for anything tight and black in velvet/leather/sequins.

On The Fringe

I will always love this fringed baby from Prada from Spring 07. Also loving the lighting and washed out colours of this shot - looks like a dreamy summer polaroid.

Natural Beauty

More beautiful, dreamy shots. I'm not gonna lie, I've always been a total sucker for and editorials/films featuring girls in sunlit fields in white dresses - I blame childhood obsession with Picnic At Hanging Rock.

Natalia

This is stunning. A perfect example of why Natalia has always been a fave of mine. This is natural, feminine and soft; yet also intense and powerful. The whole colour palette is just heavenly also.

Enter The Dinner Dress

I love the luxe yet archaic/aged feel of this shot - torn wallpaper, broken paintings, intricate gold chairs. And Freja herself is the epitome of disheveled luxury - all the atypical imperfections like her messy mop of hair and her obvious tattoos make her even more alluring. The clothes (mostly from Lanvin, Balenciaga and Givenchy) have a intricate layered sense of wealth and dishevelment - crumpled lace, heavy jewels etc.

Midtown Crisis

The decadence and excess conveyed by this shot is mindblowing. The glamour seduces you totally.

Miu Miu Fall 09 Campaign

The new Miu Miu campaign for fall stunning - the black and white combined with washed out colour really works for once (so often this can look very wrong). These are miles better than than the Katie Holmes campaign. I love the combination of the soft beiges and camels with the grey. There's a refreshing austerity and refinement but also an appealing sense of luxury - hello bejewelment!

Khaki and Sequins

I love the contrasts in this; the soft, classic utilitarian-ness of the army green tees/pants  and the plaid shirts - juxtaposed with the jewelled, studded and furry details. The young model also has a beautiful innocence (this is one of the few examples when a young (looking) model really works.

ADN de la Mode

The stunning August issue of French Vogue (shot entirely by Inez and Vinoodh) has a deliciously long editorially showcasing the key fall looks from all the major designers - and they've used all the top girls and there still is a real sense of continuity.

Prada, Fendi & Gucci

Signes Particuliers

As soon as the mercury rises - I am so doing this look. classic white tee or tank underneath my leather bra from Lonely Hearts, every necklace and bracelet I own as well as some of Mama's pearls. And this editorial has only intensified my burning desire for a blatant logo tee in black and white (ideally Chanel or YSL). Sigh.

Lily In Paris

Yeah I know I'm shallow, but I am always a total fiend for any editorial or campaign thats blatantly (and stunningly) Parisian. Toss in Lily, Louis Vuitton (especially the infamous bunny ears), Balenciaga and Givenchy and I'm all yours.

Sun Goddess

I'm loving washed out, sun bleached colourings in editorials at the moment - convey a dreamy, nostalgic feel of summer. Also still obsessed with Chloe's scalloped blazers.

17/06/09: Vogue Russia

I'm not usually a fan of Snejana Onopka, but this I like! Messy hair, strong brows and some sick jackets. And I still want round Lennon/Olsen glasses.
