ADN de la Mode

The stunning August issue of French Vogue (shot entirely by Inez and Vinoodh) has a deliciously long editorially showcasing the key fall looks from all the major designers - and they've used all the top girls and there still is a real sense of continuity.
Isabel Marant, Ferragamo & Dsquared

Miu Miu & Paul Smith

Louis Vuitton, Versace & Balmain

Prada, Fendi & Gucci

Loewe & Rick Owens

Chanel & Yves Saint Laurent

Goldilocks

There's something so classic, iconic and healthy about swinging flaxen locks. Both Chloe and Gucci are famous for the blondes they use in their campaigns. And Lily, Abbey Lee, RaquelAnja and Natasha are in high demand. Which is your favorite? The Chloe Girl or the Gucci Girl?

Black #10: The Girls & The Jewelry

The rest of Black's tenth issue is equally fab.

The Waiting Comes In Waves
I so love the editorial of Kim Noorda. The colours are simply gorgeous and the juxtaposition of fabrics is great (tule, cashmere, silk, either). And those shoes are to die for - the brown leather stops them being too bondage.
Im 99.9% sure the jacket on the left is a Rick Owens - I would give my first born for one of his leather jackets. Its also nice to see those embellished Gucci pants from their now iconic (and much referenced/copied) Fall 08 collection.
Ps: Does Noorda make anyone else seriously want to get a messy bob? Or is it just me?

Karen Walker Jewelry
Love these ads, so stunning and quirky. The nostalgia of the ornament makes the jewelry even more special - gives it a sense of tradition and an heirloom quality.

Deadly Ponies Precious
Love that the amazingly talented Deadly Ponies do jewelry now. I've been semi-obsessed with their creamy flower pieces ever since I saw one at Superette when they first came out. There is something stunningly aged and primal about them (very different to typical flower based jewelry). Also, as I have also been obsessed with the solid fragility of bell jars my whole life, I love this shot; so evocative and shrine-like.

Flora by Gucci

This I love. I always die for the Gucci campaigns, and Abbey Lee is one of my all time faves. The video for this is also stunning (though nothing beats the one for the Fall 08 campaign).

Ps: Did you know that to make the video, they tied flowers to the tops of stalks in a corn field?! Def worth it.

Lily

I love Lily Donaldson - she makes a gorgeous romantic hippy. Almost a summer version of the Lily from the Gucci Winter 08 campaign. Love the lighting and colours. And have been coveting daisy headbands even more than usual since one of the January issue of Russh featured some stunners.

Nostalgic Muse: Janis Joplin

Sorry for the lack of posts, has been a crazy few days!!! Thought I'd do a post on one of my favorite nostalgic muses, they fabulously disheveled Janis Joplin. Her messy straggly, big round glasses and witchy grin top of her perfect hippy/gypsy style. Its evident everywhere at the moment, but done best by Mary Kate and Erin, and at Gucci.

MFW: Gucci

GUCCI
Although I wasn't particularly sold on the Gucci Fall 09 collection at first (not a fan of the prints and nothing competes with their Fall 08) - as more and more slick, sharp black looks came out I definitely had a change of heart. Im also feeling a bit of Bowie in their - the string makeup, the metallic suits.
The insane, sparkly/metallic outfits that come out towards the end were a magpies dream - and lifted by the palette of black, navy and gunmetal.
Loved the slouchy, black, matte-snakeskin clutch - and the heel on those boots is insane.

Poly vs Poly

I love the new Gucci by Gucci Eau de Toilette ads, mainly because Natasha Poly has her old, darker hair back!! Which do you prefer? The darker blonde/brown, or the perfect blonde she is now? Both look insanely stunning, but thats because she's Natasha "The Show Doesn't Start Until I Walk In" Poly.
