Mustang Baby

This is dreamy perfection. I love the juxtaposition of the leather on hot rod with the grassy meadow and the feminine pieces. All bathed in a nostalgic golden light it is so evocative of the type of road trip everyone dreams of. On another note - I adore Anja's growing-out crop.

Goldilocks

There's something so classic, iconic and healthy about swinging flaxen locks. Both Chloe and Gucci are famous for the blondes they use in their campaigns. And Lily, Abbey Lee, RaquelAnja and Natasha are in high demand. Which is your favorite? The Chloe Girl or the Gucci Girl?

Balmain: Fall/Winter 09 Campaign

First shot of Anja Rubik doing Balmain Fall 09 - love that they've used one of my fave runway looks (which looks even better with the leather jacket here). Also loving Anja's longer crop.

Into The Light

Oh wow. Love this. Karl and black&white are a match made in heaven (whatever the medium, photography, outfit etc etc). Anja looks stunningly sculptural and statuesque - look at those body lines. Love the juxtaposition of amazing fashion-y pieces (leather paneled skinnies, white feathered jacket, sheer dress) with the manly hobo boots - really grounds (literally?) the looks.

The Met's Costume Institute Gala 09: Neo-Supers

Unsurprisingly, the models kicked ass on the red carpet at The Met Ball. The neo-supers all looked mind blowing - and super fresh. This is why they are payed the big bucks and front pretty much everything. They look to die for on the runway, in editorial, in candids and on the red carpet.

My three all time faves looked stunning. Trust Erin to blow everyone away in some insane zipped leather pants. That girl is an icon. Sasha looks absolutely ethereal and yet somehow earthy at the same time. I LOVE her hair. Best of the night. Daria gives a tiny sparkly dress edge and mystery (total opposite of what we saw on Giselle).
Left to Right: Erin Wasson in Phi, Sasha Pivovarova in Giambattista Valli & Daria Werbowy in Balmain

The other big names looked amazing too. Anja is made for Balmain (her shoulders do worry me somewhat though...). Miranda manages to be super sexy but not vulgar. Caroline looks like a total princess - every girls dream, and I could SO see that dress on an Olsen (probably MK). I can't tell you how much Im dying for that insane chainmail dress by Alexander Wang that Lara is wearing. She's got the figure to wear it instead of it wearing her.

L'Hirondell

I love Anja Rubik, but much prefer her in editorials than on the runway - and heres a perfect example why..
The blonde mop and endless tanned limbs are perfect - especially here. I've been coveting crisp white origami dresses ever since seeing the one that Stella McCartney showed for Spring 09. Love the cut outs and patterns of the second shot, rendered perfectly in a nude palette.

Last Emperor

All my fave outfits from the premiere of Valentino The Last Emperor (most being on models). I always love seeing Balmain off the runway. And was v impressed with Aggy (usually not a fan of her look) but here she kills it in long black velvet - love the softer hair too.

PFW: Balmain

BALMAIN
I die. Christophe Decarnin's collections for Balmain get better and better - and Fall 09 is no different. He has continued many of his much coveted silhouettes and ideas from the past two collections, but developed and pushed them even further. Balmain is the epitome of the luxe/trash sexy/boyish aesthetic (that I love so dearly). It just makes me want to go out!

There were more of the signature sharp shouldered blazers + cropped skinny jeans. Love how the sharp jackets look effortlessly casual with soft tees and boyish low waisted pants.
I covet the luxurious tees - soft and loose and cut perfectly. And love the classic striped jersey done in SEQUINS.
As usual, Decarnin has produced some of the hottest little dresses of the season, which although totally sexy and deliciously trashy, don't ever border on vulgar or nasty. On another note, I really quite like those sparkly, one-armed half-sleeves on Freja and Anna and Anja.

More sharp jackets, but in these looks they contrast perfectly with the fluid harem pants - the movement in these is insane, they almost look molten.

One of my fave Balmain silhouettes is the strong shouldered, long sleeved mini dresses - so short, yet the lack of  skin on the top of the body is classy and the shoulders have a definite toughness. But they are still all totally fun (sequins and studs anyone?)
The one shouldered, ruffled numbers are totally sick - eighties/barbie/dynasty heaven.
Love the fresh looks of these geometric, futuristic pieces. Strong black linear patters, rich silver, and quilted leather. Love the sharp sweetheart neckline too - a refreshing twist on a usually cute (but somewhat saccharine) cut.
Also got a kick out of seeing three of my all time fave girls (and very rare on the catwalk these days) walk for Christophe; Erin, Angela and Carmen. This is how it's done - these girls are classics.

New Chloe

Excitement at the breakfast table! New shots from Chloe's Spring/Summer 09 campaign. I love these! The light, the colour, the rocks (and obvz the clothes). And that soft bouncy hair that is oh so Chloe. I do miss Anja though.

Fur 'n' Roses

Numero October 2007 "Bagatelle" Anja Rubik

Snap Snap Anja

This editorial made me giggle.. Just a little, because these were the first things I though of. She looks awesome though! Tinman and Nutcracker are fierce - working the military trend!

Rosy Poesy

Im a big fan of the stunning and talented Clemence Poesy. These were just posted on Garance Dore

Shes stunning, french, has amazing style and is a super talented actress! I loved her in the film In Bruges (with the v cute Colin Farrell and the v funny Brendan Gleeson). I also love that shes the face of Chloe's perfume - along with other faves of mine Anja Rubik and Chloe Sevigny.
