NY Show Package SS10 - Management

I totally love the show cards One Management has done for the New York shows. The poppy, cute, retro-futuristic sixties vibe combined with aged and hand written elements is so perfect. Spot on nostalgia and fun.

The World Of Women & Supreme

I found the shots from V's model supplement quite arresting - the classical elegance and refinement is beautiful, but there is also an earthy, primal undercurrent - most noticeable in some of the other images that featured animal feet, raw meat and innards

Behati

The stunning Behati Prinsloo is one of my favorite girls; looks both gorgeous and laidback, has great style - and from the interviews I've read, the Namibian beauty sounds so down to earth. Some of my favorite Russh editorials have featured her - particularly this from the Jan 09 issue. I love these shots too - the left is one of the best smoking shots I've seen.

Muse: Erin Wasson

Our girl Erin is amazing. Every time I see a shot of her epic tattoos I want one even more. And love the shot on the right. Makes me wish I had balance.

Jethro Cave

I'm still undecided about Jethro (son of Nick) Cave - sometimes he looks simply amazing (naive/wild, masculine/androgynous) but sometimes I see shots and think "what's with all the hype". So the jury is out so far, but these shots are certainly tipping him in my favor.

Book Club

Anyone who knows me knows I'm a bit of a book nerd. Am currently racking up some serious library fines because of end of semester lack of free time. Im really craving some additions to my book stack.
Clockwise: Dear Diary by Lesley Arfin, B Model by Miranda Darling, Paint It Black by Janet Finch, The Thoughtful Dresser by Linda Grant, Lets Spend The Night Together by Pamela Des Barres. Center: Front Row: Anna Wintour by Jerry Oppenheimer.

I love luxurious, big art and photography books, more of an investment but you have the joy of looking through them again and again.
Clockwise: Wayne Thiebaud: A Paintings Retrospective by Steven A. Nash, Rolling Stones Fans by Joseph Szabo, Linda MCartney's Sixties by Linda McCartney, Lisa Yuskavage by Lisa Yuskavage, Fashion Illustration By Fashion Designers by Laird Borrelli, Welcome To Big Biba by Steven Thomas. Angela

Angela Lindvall has seriously one of the best bodies in the world - pretty amazing considering she's a mum and one of the "older" models. By her own admission she had to "literally run up mountains" to get back in shape after her kids. I love it when they admit that, as opposed to "oh it just fell off with breast feeding and weekly yoga".

I've always loved this ed, so bright and strong and SO evocative of the 90s supes.

The Met's Costume Institute Gala 09: Neo-Supers

Unsurprisingly, the models kicked ass on the red carpet at The Met Ball. The neo-supers all looked mind blowing - and super fresh. This is why they are payed the big bucks and front pretty much everything. They look to die for on the runway, in editorial, in candids and on the red carpet.

My three all time faves looked stunning. Trust Erin to blow everyone away in some insane zipped leather pants. That girl is an icon. Sasha looks absolutely ethereal and yet somehow earthy at the same time. I LOVE her hair. Best of the night. Daria gives a tiny sparkly dress edge and mystery (total opposite of what we saw on Giselle).
Left to Right: Erin Wasson in Phi, Sasha Pivovarova in Giambattista Valli & Daria Werbowy in Balmain

The other big names looked amazing too. Anja is made for Balmain (her shoulders do worry me somewhat though...). Miranda manages to be super sexy but not vulgar. Caroline looks like a total princess - every girls dream, and I could SO see that dress on an Olsen (probably MK). I can't tell you how much Im dying for that insane chainmail dress by Alexander Wang that Lara is wearing. She's got the figure to wear it instead of it wearing her.

Furs

I think this is the most badass fur jacket I  have ever seen, I keep coming back to this photo. Erin Wasson never disappoints.

Erin Sells Up

Soo... Fashionologie has the news (via Style.com) that our girl Erin Wasson is having a GARAGE SALE and getting rid of a decade worth of stuff.
Times like this I wish I lived in Venice beach... Well actually, I always do.

Erin Opens Up

“Sometimes I just have to touch base with that 27-year-old girl that I am. Yes I'm a model. Yes I'm designing. Yes I do some styling, I got a jewelry line and I know a lot of hats but sometimes I just want to be that girl that wakes up and cooks breakfast and hangs out with her man and hangs out in the backyard and jumps on the bike and goes down to the beach. It's really important to live a simple life sometimes. You know? Back to basics. That’s my mantra these days. Simplicity.”
“I get approached for a lot of TV projects. And I sit in a room with these people and I say ‘You guys realize you’re talking to the wrong girl?’ I’m not your cheesy girl that’s going to dress up in a hokey outfit and say all the sound bites that you want me to say. That’s just not who I am. I’m a total odd bird. I collect prison art and paper mache [sic] masks. I keep a journal and rip pages out of books. I think that when you open your mind, you realize there’s art everywhere, there’s art all around us. That’s what keeps the wheels in motion. To create is my ultimate goal. So why would I ever sell out?”

“I bought a truck from a Polish guy for $1,000 cash in Brooklyn, and I just set off on a five-month road trip, I remember just rolling up onto Venice Beach, and living in a hostel and hanging out in Venice Beach and I was just like, 'Fuck dude, I need to live here.' And that’s when the light came on.”

Fash-Fight

Everything is better in Paris - apparently Karl himself had to break up a "full on serious fistfight" between two "veteran models" in a Paris nightlcub!! That is so rock and roll. Im dying to know who the beligerants are.

Starry Eyed: Angela Lindvall

Angela Lindvall is def one of my fave models - so stunning! I love this shot of her in this galaxy print dress by Risto Bimbiloski (Im a total sucker for imagery of stars, galaxies etc!) Extra impressive is that he works with sustainable fibres and dyes!

Girl loves her galaxy prints! Anyone where know where I can find one?? (I know Ksubi did a variation on the theme a few seasons ago). Merci!
