It's A Guy Thing

I've probably been overdosing you all with classic, masculine inspired things - I guess I have it on the brain (and it's also related to my concept for uni at the moment - therefore I feel less guilty with distracting myself blogging).
But how can an editorial like this not be helpfull and inspiring in some way - just look at the amazing cuts of the coats and pants; the earthy, tweedy colours; the movement in what are usually rigid, serious pieces; the stunning lighting and setting. Not to mention the stunning Bette Franke - the girl is growing on my for sure.

Fall 09: Dries Van Noten

I will forever love the use of colour in the collection by Dries Van Noten from Fall 09. What should be so wrong was actually so so right. Pink/red/camel?! Burgundy/Brown/Grey. And the fact that the colours where applied to perfectly cut classic pieces adds the perfect refinement and seriousness to the kooky palette.

4/09/09: Net-A-Porter Classics

I think my brain gets a little fatigued from the constant onslaught of print, studs, denim, leather, fur etc that I feed it. Some times it just needs a cool breath of air in the form of simple classics - that lack all the bells and whistles, but are all the better for it.

It's very much "borrowed from the boys" with perfect shirts, cool slouchy jackets and flat shoes, but is feminised with elements like a tight leather skirt just peeping from your shirt tails.
