Rosy Poesy

Im a big fan of the stunning and talented Clemence Poesy. These were just posted on Garance Dore.

Shes stunning, french, has amazing style and is a super talented actress! I loved her in the film In Bruges (with the v cute Colin Farrell and the v funny Brendan Gleeson). I also love that shes the face of Chloe's perfume - along with other faves of mine Anja Rubik and Chloe Sevigny.

I Fly Like Paper, Get High Like Planes

We went to Sale Street bar last night.. It opened not to long ago, and is the "Big, New Bar". The line was 45 minutes long (for a bar in Auckland thats a bit intense.. but we made it). We were really impressed with the interior - its huge and divided into sections really well (bar, dancefoor, loung, eating, leaners, outdoors). The lounge even has really good magazines! Artnews etc. Really fab floral wallpaper by the bathrooms too, will def go back soon and take pictures this time! We also went to Flight Lounge's Christmas party - was a really good night! Gotta dance the night away before Christmas fam commitments intensify. Am not too tired either (three hours sleep?) but am working till midnight tonight. Shall be interesting too see how it pans out!

The Good Life, Let's Go On A Living' Spree

I always had a passion for flashing, before I had it I close my eyes and imagine, The Good Life..
Going out tonight...

Brigette and I both wearing black lace...

Merci Karen

This just arrived in my inbox. Made me smile. Thought I would pass it on... Enjoy! x

Wanting: Coke Tee

Fashion Toast = Tres Balmain

LOVE Fashion Toast.. Rumi's outfits are always mind blowing. This is her latest; the dress is vintage but the first thing I though was "so Balmain". V fab..

Sasha Mail

Discotheque Confusion just posted these... Too cute!! Sasha is adorable (one of my faves) - I so wish these were real.

Getting: Wild

Aftermath of a party at "my country pile"? Getting dirty in the woods looks like fun...

Le Box Noir

I made a (first) trip to Black Box in Grey Lynn yesterday and was v impressed! The new(ish) boutique is stunning - interior, vibe and stock. It is the baby of Stolen Girlfriends Club's Dan Gosling - naturally they have the largest (and best) collection of SGC I've seen.

The labels that caught my eye were SGC, Shakuhachi, Something and Ksubi - they also stock Chronicles of Never, Friedrich Grey, Therese Rawstone and others. And apparently in the future they will have the full Ksubi Line (not just jeans, sunggies etc).. Although with the current trouble Ksubi is apparently in that will remain to be seen oui?

While I was there I tried on a few stunning things, a black chunky cable knit crop top (insane!) but Shakuhachi that actually was cute and wearable! And these SGC pieces...

The image of the dress really doesn't do it justice - its silk and the peace sign is done with delicate lace applique. It felt like wearing a really comfortable tee! Unfortunately the smallest they had was an NZ10, and while it fitted and did look ok (was meant to be baggy) it really did swamp my frame (I wear a 6 usually). Sigh.. So pretty. Oh well I suppose I have just got a similiar(ish) Karen Walker Dress.. But I heart this one too!

Anyway definitely go check Black Box out - the staff are really nice and helpful too! Not intimating or snobby like some boutiques.

Starry Eyed: Angela Lindvall

Angela Lindvall is def one of my fave models - so stunning! I love this shot of her in this galaxy print dress by Risto Bimbiloski (Im a total sucker for imagery of stars, galaxies etc!) Extra impressive is that he works with sustainable fibres and dyes!

Girl loves her galaxy prints! Anyone where know where I can find one?? (I know Ksubi did a variation on the theme a few seasons ago). Merci!

More From The Talented Mr Walker...

So I kept lingering on the Tim Walker forum on The Fashion Spot, and came across these...

Vogue UK August 2007 "To The Ends Of The Earth" featuring Iekeliene Stange

I am so amazed! These are shot in (and prominently feature the natives of) Papua New Guinea - a place a lived for three years as a child! Wow! Has made my day for sure.

Dreaming...

I don't know about you all.. But I so need some escapism after working all day in the Christmas Mall Rush! Thank god for the amazing Tim Walker...

Festive Films: The Brits

I don't know about you, but every year around this time there are certain films that I always watch - they are happy, bittersweet, personal classics that always get me in the mood for christmas (usually abit big, eccentric families - probably a reflection on my love for my own!). First up are my favorite British films.

Love actually is without a doubt fabulous at this time of year, reminds you of the importance of your loved ones, and both how much joy and sadness there is to be had in loving someone - definitely reminds you of the important things in life!

Our girl Bridget is also a staple...

Alexander Wang: Pre Fall 09

My favorite looks from Alexander Wang's Pre Fall 09 collection. Gorgeous loungey jackets (red velvet = perfect), bra-tops, leather vests.. And I love the oatmeal coloured jumper dress (would be fab for uni/sunday/anything)

J'Adore

Le Fashion just posted this... I love!!

Yet another reason for me sooo needing an army jacket! As are these....

Fembot

This shot of Iekeliene Stange in Vogue Germany January 2009 so reminds me of the iconic poster for Metropolis...
On another note.. The typography for the film is so ahead of its time (1927!) Couldn't this been an edgy fashion magazine (inspired by Balenciaga oui?)

Weather Confusion

The weather is crazy today! Super windy and humid; and one minute its cold and the next crazy hot! V typical Auckland weather - was a mission to get dressed today. Have found a good solution though, lovely black cashmere t-shirt (vintage mummy - merci mama!) comfy and just warm enough, without having to layer. Looks good with my Karen Walker acid wash skinny jeans too (they are quite hard to style, as they are pretty intense - and I live in the boring suburbs!)

RIP... Betty Page

Iconic, raven haired godmother of pin-ups has passed away following strokes and a coma.

Loving: Military Frogging

I'm really warming up to military jackets and frogged details.. Wasn't so keen at first (had Michael Jackson memories) even though some of my favorite designers showed frogged pieces (Balmain, Alexander McQueen).. But having seen them styled so well in editorials (French Vogue) and day to day (Erin Wasson) I really love them now. And maybe it's also because of the Christmas season.. I mean who could forgot the most iconic of all...
