Juliette Hogan "Floor Skirt"

So I finally paid off my my anticipated "Floor Skirt" from Juliette Hogan - and it's heavenly. The movement is divine. And it's somehow light yet weighty at the same time. Can't wait to pair it with some neutral toned pieces to try out a creamy palette.
Ps: Got my hair done again at the ace Stephen Marr (thanks Mobeen). It's shorter and was bleached out and toned so its a lovely cool blonde - and he gave me some wiked smoked out roots to grunge it up a bit. I love it - looks lived in and so far from precious (which is surprisingly hard to get when your blonde).

Aaand.. Cut.

Chop chop. So I did it. Had my appointment at Stephen Marr today. Actually could not get to sleep last night because of excitement - what am I? Like five? Had a last look/feel of my hair this morning - cringed at the feel of my split ends.

BEFORE
Stephen Marr was pure heaven. Everyone was insanely nice and uber skilled. And I had the most delicious tea ever (lemon and grapefruit - and it was pink!) in a floral china cup. Sigh.

Was beyond impressed at the whole experience and can't believe what a good job they did - I took in pictures etc and the final product was even better than what I imagined. Mobeen idea and execution were above spot on - and cutting skills were v amazing.

So I'm pretty much in love with my do - it's more a "chop" as opposed to a "bob" and is blunt but soft. Exactly what I wanted - the perfect hybrid of teenage boy, little girl, modern woman. I actually feel two years older and way more mature - no longer have the hair I had when I was seventeen. Thank god.

AFTER
Literally a weight off my shoulders - feels light, carefree and breezy.

So yup, am psyched and SO unbelievably greatful (and impressed!!!) by the whole team at Stephen Marr and everyone involved - and everyone who has put up with my incessant complaining about my battered hair for the past forever.

Getting My Marr On Tomorrow: au revoir scarecrow hair

So tomorrow I am fiiinally getting my scarecrow-like mop of hair seen to. The wizards at Stephen Marr will be working there magic. I definitely need this, have been doing a "hair detox" all year - haven't died it since November and didn't straighten for two months. Love the colour thats growing out (medium blonde) but the ends are in shockingly dry/split condition c/o it being bleached platinum a couple of years ago (my bad, sorry hair).

I've been inspired for a while by all the gorgeous natural dark blondes around - and love that as it's pretty much my natural hue it should mean low damage/maintenance.

The previously mentioned Chloe Blondes from the Spring 09 campaign are stunning.

And I have had a massive crush on Abbey Lee's hair since forever. Honorable mentions to Alyona and Edita.

Cut wise - I have made the big decision to get a short, blunt, dishevelled bob. My obscenely damaged ends NEED to come off like asap. And a shorter cut will hopefully convey an ounce of maturity. I think it will literally take a weight off my shoulders. A tousled, boyish crop has a natural and carefree feel. I particularly love Kim Noorda's cut and colour.

And you all know I have a total girl crush on Alexa Chung - particularly love her endearingly awkward crop.

The blunt, messy fringed 'do of Anna Selezneva is also one of my faves - particularly loved it in this French Vogue editorial.. But I think a fringe would be one change to many, and they tend to make me look uber young.
Wish me luck!!!

Tied In Knots

I still can't stop wearing topknots. They are just the perfect solution to a bad hair day - totally rectifies when our hairs messy, knotty, disagreeable or dirty (with the help of some baby powder - perk of being blonde!). I love them when they are a bit messy and slept in, they convey a gorgeous, appealing and unpretensious nonchalance and realism. Childlike and innocent yet also a suggest a bit of trouble too.

They are in nearly every issue of Russh - always executed to perfection. Erin Wasson is undoubtably the queen of the knot - she even wore a big side angled one to the Met's Costume Institute Gala this year. I also love the cute buns done by Stephen Marr for Juliette Hogan's beautiful summer lookbook.

Karen Walker Show: The Believers

Went to the Karen Walker The Believers show at Stephen Marr in Newmarket last night, and it was tres fab!! Everyone was dressed so well. Brigette and I spent the whole time pointing out outfits, hair and shoes to each other - props to the girl in "Fashion Toast Shoes", Anouk Rondel's perfect topknot (seen here on Isaac Likes) and pretty much everyone. Lovely pinot noir also. And much thanks to Murray at Showroom 22 for the invite!

The Believers is without a doubt my fave collection Karen Walker's ever done, and even though I've seen it a million times (from New York on Style.com, in the lookbook online, in store and in editorials - particularly loved it in the latest No magazine) it added another dimension seeing them styled, in motion and in the flesh.

Am dying to get one of the amazing jackets or coats - need it for warmth of course.. Perfect reasoning. All of them were cut so well, with lovely details like pleats and volume  and all moved so beautifully (which is a pretty special thing to find in a coat). I think the boxy double breasted grey is def my fave, but the tan jacket and coat look so much better in person - although they are trench style, they looked like wool and the colour had amazing depth.

This is print has definitely grown and grown on me, its so delicate and warm - and perfect in the beautiful silk. Anna Fitzpatrick was lucky enough to be wearing the beautiful one shouldered dress.

Didn't think it was possible, but I love the white lace fabric even more. All the pieces were so so beautiful and worked with EVERYTHING. Am going into the Newmarket store tomorrow to FINALLY pay off my to (second from left). Seriously can't wait.
Also loved that one of the adorable straw hats was included - they SO remind me of Puddleglum the Marshwiggle in The Silver Chair from the Narnia books. Except cute and pretty. Brigette and I think these would be perfect to be anonymous and mysterious. Esp with big dark glasses - maybz my beloved Helter Skelters oui?

The blue suit is just totally insane. And we both died for the lambskin gilets - particularly the grey one. So gorge, amazing contrast of textures.
